A Pastel PINK Bouquet for a Book Themed Wedding

As you may have noticed, I am getting more and more into book-paper flowers lately.

They just provide that nice simple look, the base of the bouquet, which can then be perked up with a touch of color or form from other flowers.

In this case, I wanted a pastel bouquet, so pale PINK magnolia-style flowers play a big role, as do pale YELLOW flowers, roses in the palest BLUE and tiny paper flowers in different pastel colors.

I was toying with the idea of wrapping the bouquet in a dashing mustard satin ribbon or a more traditional ivory satin, but I am leaving that option open for now. The bride that purchases this bouquet will decide which color ribbon to go with.

The bouquet (sans the knit vase) can currently be found in my Etsy shop.

Pink-Hued Book Paper Rose Boutonniere

Here it is.

A book paper rose inked with pale pink ink.

It's one of a kind and I made it just for Judy's wedding this fall.

The boutonniere is part of the Pink Champagne Book Roses set and accompanies the paper bouquet I made a while ago.

This color palette (pale pink, peach, cream and book paper) is so romantic and one of my favorite, and I'm so glad the bride that gets to carry these flowers down the aisle is one who appreciates handmade beauties.

Wishing you all the joy in the world, Judy!

My own patterned paper: Boutonnieres, Corsages and Cake Flowers

... Here is the second part of my post about my own patterned paper.

I turned the flowers I made from the stamped paper into pin paper boutonnieres, corsages and cake flowers.

And here is the Bridal Bouquet that will be central piece of this nature and book themed Alaska wedding.

Pink Champagne - BOOK Paper Flowers and Pinks and Creams

Book roses are one of my favorite paper flowers. They give depth and meaning to bouquets and really stand out among solid colored flowers.

For example, see this pretty bouquet. Its pinks and cream-colored peonies and roses are beautiful on their own, but when there are book roses in the mix, the bouquet perks up and becomes whole.

The Jane Austen book pages that became the material for these roses add that extra touch of ROMANCE, beauty, meaning to the bouquet ...

What could be more appropriate for a bride that embodies these qualities as well?

BOOK Flowers and Buttons - Amy's Wedding Bouquet

Another book-themed bouquet, this time enhanced with flower which shape I just came up with.

See the photos below for details.

This bouquet, meant for a book loving English bride, is constructed from:

  • handmade BOOK paper roses,
  • lots and lots of vintage BUTTONS,
  • hand-stamped flowers, and
  • unique designer paper flowers

Pearls and satin ribbons in light gray and open taupe also add extra touches to make this bouquet all the more special.

Yellow and Cobalt Blue Paper Boutonnieres and Corsages

These are the Yellow and Cobalt Blue paper corsages and boutonnieres for Chelsea's wedding.

Constructed petal by petal thanks to a lovely light yellow paper and the heavy use of my brand new sharp precision scissors.

Simple adornments:
  • blue pearls (and a white pearl for the groom's boutonniere)
  • vintage gold ribbon, and a
  • yellow satin ribbon.
These flowers complement Chelsea's bridal bouquet in Yellow, Cobalt Blue and Book Paper.

Also, see her flower girl's pomander in the same colors.

Shimmer Purple Bridesmaid Flowers

You might remember seeing a shimmer purple flower on my blog a few weeks earlier. Well, I made five more of these as simple and elegant Bridesmaid Bouquets for an upcoming Cambridge wedding.

The bride wanted a purple book flowers bouquet, as well as something simple for her bridesmaids. She wasn't afraid of a little color, so I used saturated purples to build the layers of petals for these flowers: shimmer purple, eggplant, reddish purple and even brownlike purple.

The wired stalks are wrapped in brown floral tape.

Simple... single flower bouquets...

These flowers complement the bride's purple book rose bouquet.

Sam's Wedding Bouquet - Paper Flowers - PURPLE - BOOK ROSES

This is Sam's bridal bouquet in hues of purple, that is, book paper roses tinted in purple and accented with little shimmer purple flowers and pearls.

I used at least four different inks to get these purple tones. No matter how dark the ink was in its packaging, I learned that once it touches the paper it becomes pink. So, I also used deep dark inks, as well as jet black ink for some of the roses.

Sam also wanted roses made from music sheet paper, so you can see those in the pics below.

For what it's worth, I also found that the music sheet paper is easier to tint than the book paper.

Wedding Bouquets in YELLOW, COBALT BLUE and BOOK PAPER

A book loving bride recently contacted me about creating her wedding flowers and besides sharing her vision of a book-themed wedding (with simple yet stunning table centerpieces of her and the groom's favorite hardcover novels stacked under unassuming Mason jars filled with water and floating candles), she asked me if I could make her bridal bouquet in YELLOWS, BLUES and BOOK PAGES touched with turquoise blue ink..

How magically romantic is that!

I personally love this sunny palette so it was a great pleasure to create her flowers.

Seen below are the Bridal Bouquet, the Maid of Honor Bouquet and the Junior Bridesmaid Bouquet.

I'm also making a pomander for the flower girl, the groomsmen boutonnieres and corsages for the mothers.

RED, CHAMPAGNE and WHITE

This lovely piece was created for Sandra who wanted a wedding bouquet in RED, CHAMPAGNE AND WHITE.

I made roses in red and peonies in white, and for the "champagne" part of the palette I used book paper to create more roses (touched with ink to give the petals more definition).

Red and white paper lace butterflies complement the flowers and a lovely high quality satin ribbon ties it all together.
